Building dust travels
When a subdivision is still filling in, the dust does not respect fences. Grading on the next street blows a grey film onto window screens, porch furniture and the inside of your house every time a door opens. Newer homes hold onto it too — on top of the kitchen cabinets, in the bathroom vent covers, along the upper edge of every door. We take it out with damp microfibre rather than stirring it back into the air, and we always do the window tracks and screens, because in Melissa that is where it collects first.
Floors a baby can crawl on
A lot of Melissa houses have a little one in them. Babies put their hands on the floor and then in their mouths, so what gets left behind on that floor matters more than how shiny it looks. We use mild products, we rinse instead of leaving a film, and we skip the heavy fragrance that makes a nursery smell like a chemical aisle. If there is something you already trust, leave it out and we will work with it. The same care goes for the high chair, the play mat and the bottom two feet of wall.
Dog hair, cat hair, and the parts people miss
Shed hair does not sit politely in the middle of the carpet. It works into the edge of the rug, under the couch, along the baseboards and into the weave of the furniture. Dander travels further still and is a common trigger for asthma and itchy eyes in children. We vacuum edges and under things, not just the open floor, and we wipe the hard surfaces where hair and dander settle. Our products are chosen to be safe around animals — nothing that causes trouble if a dog licks the floor an hour later.
A small-town way of doing it

Melissa questions we hear a lot
There is still construction near our street in North Creek. Should we wait until it finishes before starting?
No — that is when regular cleaning earns its keep. Grading dust keeps arriving for as long as the lots are working, so a house cleaned every couple of weeks stays ahead of it instead of losing ground. We check the window tracks and screens each visit too, since that is where the grit lands first. Once the building quiets down, most families move to a lighter schedule.
Is Melissa too far out for you to come regularly?
Not at all. We already run a Melissa route, so it is not a special trip and the price does not change for the drive. Most customers leave us a garage code or a lockbox and we clean while the house is empty. We lock up, let you know we are done, and leave a note if we spotted something like a slow drain or a damp patch under a sink.
Our house in Liberty is only a couple of years old. Does it really need a longer first clean?
Often yes, though not because the house is dirty. New builds keep releasing drywall dust from vents, cabinet tops and closet shelves for a good while after the keys change hands. We clear that out once, properly, and then your regular visits are straightforward. If the house has been kept well and nobody has allergies, we will tell you that and skip the extra time.
